The Surf Coast Times published a feature on the Torquay Hotel refurbishment in Dec 2019. The article discussed the desire for publicans John and Joel Taylor to provide an ‘unparalleled degree of comfort’ in the revamped premises.
Filled with natural light and a plethora of leafy flora, the once tired space has been given a new lease on life.
The dining space’s centre has been fitted with a plush couch which backs onto a striking plant feature, with hanging lights brightening the soft blue and pink colour choices selected by interior designer Phillipa Johnson.
“Her strength is colour palettes,” Joel said. “She does an amazing job with colour choices; we couldn’t really do it without her.”
The Torquay Hotel project was a wonderful opportunity to transform the space into a naturally warm and modern setting for locals and tourists to feel at home in. We thoroughly enjoyed working with John and Joel to bring their envisioned brand to life.
